In Memory

Jack Goudie

Jack Goudie

Class,

Jack’s cousin, Chris Porter Orser, informed me this evening that Jack has died just after 5:00 this afternoon.  COVID complications.  He had recovered from his cancer surgery successfully, but had not gotten his immune system back to where it needed to be for vaccination, etc., leaving him very vulnerable.  When Chris saw him around his birthday a few weeks ago he was healthy and happy.  Tom and Bo were contacted as well by Jack’s family.

Nothing I can say could add anything to the fact that he was a solid and beloved member of the class who touched all of us in a gentle and positive way at some point.  Chris and maybe Tom and Bo will get more information out to us as we know whether anything is planned and/or an obituary of some sort.

Condolences to all friends and family. Even though I am a Class of '69 Catholic school interloper, I remember Jack. Especially because of the (likely unintended) "Beatle haircut".

Jack, Farewell pal, please say hi to Jesus for me -- I know you are now in His company and likely having some fun in Heaven. Thanks for sharing so many jokes, quizzes, political messages and spiritual inspirations with me via FB messenger! It's sad for us earthlings that you left so soon. I pray for the comfort and peace of all your loved ones. Godspeed, dear Jack. x

This world can ill afford to lose such good people.  My heart felt condolences to his family.  Thank you Tom for his most recent photo.

I was very sad to hear of Jack's passing. I didn't know Jack very well. However, I do remember his unique sense of humor. He was quite a character, as I can recall.

God Bless you, Jack!  And... thank you for making our Class of 1969 as memorable as it is!!!

My heartfelt Sympathy and Prayers go out to his entire Family!
